Who We Are
Located north of downtown Columbus, the University District is a 300-block, 2.8- square mile dynamic international community of students, families, professionals, artists, business owners, and academicians who live and work in the neighborhoods surrounding the Ohio State campus.
The neighborhoods (Denison Place, Glen Echo, Indianola Forest, Iuka Ravine, NECKO, Oakland & Northwood Avenues, Tuttle Park/Old North Columbus, and Weinland Park) make up a sort of city within a city, where you'll find restored Victorian mansions, turn-of-the-century brick homes, gabled frame farmhouses, craftsman and bungalow dwellings, single family homes, and a number of options for those who prefer to rent. Much of the area is eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Sites, and four of the neighborhoods are designated as City of Columbus Historic Districts.
To live, in the University District is to experience a perfect blend of the Region's past and its dynamic present. With the nation's largest university at its center, the neighborhood offers a wealth of things to enjoy. From education, culture, sports and recreation to dining, nightlife, shopping, and superb entertainment, there's always something exciting happening here.
