Who We Are

One of Ohio's fastest growing communities, Pickerington maintains high standards for development and a desirable quality of life for its residents. Originally inhabited by the Wyandotte, Shawnee, and Mingo Native American tribes whose artifacts and burial mounds still dot the landscape, Pickerington was incorporated in 1801, and today is a thriving city of 14,500 residents in Fairfield County.

Equidistant between Columbus and Lancaster, Pickerington is part of Violet Township, which also includes portions of the City of Reynoldsburg and the Village of Canal Winchester. Characterized by both the quaint antiques and crafts of Old Pickerington Village and the commercial corridor along State Route 256, Pickerington is a city with its eye on the future and its roots firmly in the past.

Located along I-70, 17 miles east of downtown Columbus, Pickerington is a friendly community that affords its residents both small-town charm and big-city conveniences, and delights all who live there with its 150 acres of parkland, and outstanding parks & recreation educational classes and programs.
