Established in 1810 to serve as the county seat of Madison County, London is a city with deep respect for its history as well as an eye to the future. Citizens, consultants, and community leaders work together to build new residential areas and offer an ever-expanding range of community services, all while maintaining the city's historical flavor and distinctive character. Nowhere is this demonstrated more effectively than in London's newly completed Downtown Restoration/Revitalization Project.

The charming and thriving downtown is home to a number of businesses, retail shops, dining establishments, and banks. It also serves as the site for the numerous festivals and special events held throughout the year, including the popular First Friday gatherings. London also offers residents a host of recreational options including a municipal pool, a public golf course, a State Park and four community parks, and an ABA BMX track.

Located 28 miles west of Columbus, London lies south of I-70 midway between Columbus and Springfield.

• Madison County Link of Ohio-to-Erie Trail This paved trail follows former canals and railroads as it links Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati.  Designed for use by cyclists, hikers, bird watchers and cross-country skiers, it covers 453 miles and runs through woods, meadows, urban centers, and small towns.

• The Red Brick Tavern Located on I-40, the inn and tavern was built in 1836 to serve stagecoach travelers along the Old National Road. Visited by six U.S. presidents, today it serves lunch and dinner to visitors from all over the state.

• The London Strawberry Festival  Held annually in June, the festival features a Strawberry Shortcake Tent, nightly entertainment, rides and games, parades, and plenty of everybody's favorite summer fruit.
