Who We Are
Originally part of Marble Cliff, one of Columbus's first suburbs, Grandview became a separate village in 1906 and was incorporated as a city in 1931. Located due west of downtown Columbus, Grandview is one of the region's smaller suburbs covering just 1.4 square miles, and with a population of approximately 7,000 residents. However, what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm, friendliness, and quality of life.
Grandview Heights maintains its own police and fire departments, and has an independent school district. It maintains a municipal pool, a seasonal skate park, and the Wallace Gardens Community Garden Plots. Thanks to its small size, residents can—for the most part—walk to these attractions as well as to the city's excellent library, many fine dining establishments, and charming local shops from residences which encompass every style from early twentieth-century single family homes through contemporary lofts and apartments.
